It's a family thing.. a family...Black N Animated~
Hey there animation family, we're back again this week with another BW, WB..( It's been three seasons... it don't matter) episode. This time Bre and Way take a look at another Bruce W Smith classic. One that a lot of young black folks grew up watching in the early 2000s on Disney Channel. The Proud Family!
Here a little discussion about 3 episodes "Behind Family Lines", "I had a Dream", and "Culture Shock." Each episode diving into something relevant to all our lives. The different types of family dynamics within black culture, Islamophobia following the attacks on 9/11 and how we can convey the message of unity to young children, and teaching kids about racism and black struggles.

Sunday Jun 02, 2019
Hey howdy hey BNA Listeners!!
Bre and Way are back this week to chat about the SUPER HERO... STATIC SHOCK, WHOOP WHOOP! It's almost funny how long it's taken them to talk about this show. WELL THE WAIT IS OVER. Bre and Way discuss 3 iconic episodes in the series, and discuss their powerful messages involving gun violence, bullying, racisim, and black acceptance. Static is a show that wasn't afraid to be silly, but also tackle important issues that children should learn about.
They also dive in briefly to the Origin of Static in Milestone Comics and his creator Dwayne McDuffie.
Come to think of it... maybe it's good it took them a little bit longer to get around to talking about Static. Yesterday, 6/1/19 was the 25 year anniversary of Static Shock! PERFECT TIMING!
